Indications:
This medication is used to treat and suppress acute attacks of malaria strains and types of parasitic infections. It is also used to treat certain infections of the intestines and certain type of skin problems. Other conditions may be treated by Chloroquine as determined by the physician.
How to take:
Chloroquine should be used as directed by the doctor. Check medicine labels for exact dose. This drug may be taken with or without food but preferably with food to reduce stomach irritation. Antacids or products containing kaolin should not be taken within 4 hours before or after taking Chloroquine. If a dose is missed, take one as soon as possible. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Chloroquine than it is indicated at the label without consulting your doctor.
Precautions:
Use Chloroquine with caution as it may cause certain side effects such as drowsiness. This side effect may worsen with alcohol intake therefore alcoholic beverages should be avoided while on this drug. Also use sunscreen or sunblock when exposed to the sun as this drug causes sunburn easily. Use Chloroquine with caution on elderly, children and pregnant women. If symptoms persist or become worst, consult with your doctor.
